Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, Director of the Epidemiology Unit, said that the ‘AstraZeneca’ vaccine given by India to control Covid was given to 2430 members of the health staff today.

He says that the next dose of the vaccine will be given in another month. The director also said that the vaccine will be given to people who are currently infected with the disease two weeks later.
Although the vaccination was started today, the Epidemiology Unit has not been informed of any complications, he added.
