The fuel tanker transporters say that the fuel transport operations have decreased by about 50 percent. The representative of the All Ceylon Fuel Transporters’ Association stated that on average, nearly 300 bowsers are engaged in day to day fuel distribution, but at present only 100 to 150 bowsers are being utilized.
However, he said that he does not know whether the reason for this situation is the decrease in fuel orders or the disruption of supply. At present, the supply of fuel is limited and long queues are seen near the filling stations where fuel is available.
