Five Indian fishermen were attacked near the Indo-Lanka border.

 

Five Indian fishermen who sustained injuries following an attack on the 23rd night at the border between Sri Lanka and India were admitted to the Poraiyar Hospital in Tamil Nadu.

The injured were taken to the hospital with the help of another Indian boat.

According to reports, a group of fishermen from Tharangambadi in the Myladuthurai district of India have been attacked.

They have been identified as Balamurugan, Arun Kumar, Madhavan Karthi, Murugan, and Velmurugan.

The Indian fishermen were attacked with iron rods by a group of people who forcibly boarded their boat in the middle of the sea, and a fish stock of about 1200 kg that had been caught by the fishermen was also robbed.

So far, no information has been reported about the people who attacked them, and Rameswaran Police in Tamil Nadu are conducting investigations into the incident.
