Five hundred thousand X-ray films face expiration due to a lack of chemicals!

Nearly 500,000 X-ray films are due to expire in April owing to the acute shortage of chemicals used to clean X-ray films.

It has also been confirmed that the Ministry of Health has spent more than 5 million rupees on these X-ray films.

However, when purchasing these X-ray films, only one chemical was purchased, although two types of chemicals are needed to clean them, so these films cannot be used, said a spokesperson for the ministry.

He points out that 262,900 of these films have been distributed to the medical supplies department and 236,400 to the hospital.

He said that such wastage occurs due to some officials of the ministry working without proper knowledge.
