A fake professor arrested following questions an actress’s sex plays

Police have arrested a man for impersonating Professor Sunil Ariyaratne and aiding and abetting a popular actress who invited him to play the lead role in a film he is producing and to perform sex scenes in it.

The suspect who had also questioned the actress about her performance in the sex scenes has been arrested and remanded till July 01 after being produced before the Galle Magistrate.

The suspect is Wattoru Tantirige Ravindra (47), an assistant film director, a resident of Gonagalpura, Bentota.

The police informed the court that the suspect was arrested during the investigation into a complaint received from the actress and that further investigations are being carried out to arrest the main suspect.

The suspect had told the actress that he would pay Rs. 2 million for the character. The suspect then questioned her about the sexual activity.

Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne who made a statement regarding the incident has requested the police to conduct a formal investigation and file a case against the culprits, according the police. The Magistrate ordered the relevant telecommunication companies to provide information about the suspect’s telephone conversations.

Rejecting the suspects’ bail application, the Magistrate remanded the suspect till July 01 and adjourned the case.
