Another giant rice miller from Polonnaruwa speculates on entering into politics!

Manampitiya Nimal Jayaratne –
A large-scale rice mill, Rathna Rice Mills owner Mithrapala Lankeswara of Polonnaruwa has decided to quit the business and work for people. The large-scale rice miller pledged that he will distribute a part of his profit for the welfare of the needy people.
He revealed this addressing an event related to his business which was held in Welikanada recently.
He also said that his plan is to help the poor people of the region and create an environment where they can be raised as entrepreneurs or industrialists.

Speculating on entering into politics he went on to say
“even though Polonnaruwa has an old political culture of seventy-five years and there are old politicians, we have not been able to improve Polonnaruwa.

“Executive President Maithripala Sirisena was born in Polonnaruwa district. There were politicians with great power like H, G, P Nelson, Roshan Ranasinghe, Sidney Jayaratne, Leelaratne Wijesinghe, and Siripala Gamlath. Still there today. But it didn’t work.

“These poor people in Polonnaruwa have the potential to develop if they start small businesses. Lord Buddha has preached to save part of the profits from businesses and give them to the needy. I have done that, and in the future, poor people will be gradually provided with the resources they need. I suggest to other businessmen that they leave a part for the needy people while they are alive and die after doing some social service to the people,” Mithrapala Lankeswara said further.
Earlier Mitrapala Lankeswara said in a press conference that if he joins politics, he will quit the business.
