List of Compensation Funds Received by MPs for Houses Burnt During the 2022 Unrest Presented in Parliament
Minister Nalinda Jayatissa today (06) presented in Parliament the list of compensation funds obtained by Members of Parliament from the government for houses that were set on fire during the 2022 unrest.

According to the report, a total of Rs. 1.2241 billion was allocated to 43 MPs as compensation.

At the top of the list, Keheliya Rambukwella received Rs. 95.9 million in compensation. Johnston Fernando received Rs. 93.4 million, Gamini Lokuge received Rs. 74.9 million, and Ali Sabri Raheem, who supported Ranil Rajapaksa and was involved in gold smuggling allegations, received Rs. 70.9 million. Nimal Lanza, who was accused of drug-related offenses and formed a faction supporting Ranil Wickramasinha  received Rs. 69.2 million.
