Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, the Indian maritime company who got the development of west Container terminal of Colombo port will be in Colombo today, The Hindu reports. He is scheduled to meet President Gotabaya Rajapaksa official sources have confirmed to The Hindu.
A senior official has told that it is a private visit and Mr. Adani expects to discuss the West Container Terminal project with The President Rajapaksa.
The source requested anonymity while confirming the “high profile visit” that is said to include meetings with “top Sri Lankan dignitaries”.
Recently there was a a virtual ceremony held to sign the relevant agreement with Sri Lankan stakeholders of the project namely John Keells Holdings, and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), to jointly develop the West Container Terminal.
“Mr. Adani will discuss possible projects in these sectors when he meets President Rajapaksa,” a source said.
