A last request from Wimal, Udaya’s team to be made to the President today!

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the leaders and representatives of 11 political parties led by former ministers Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila and Wasudva Nanayakkara will hold a crucial discussion today (10) on whether to remove the current Prime Minister and form an interim government under a new Prime Minister.

They have stated that they will support the impeachment motion against the President and the no-confidence motion against the government if the President does not take a firm decision in this regard today.

The 11 political parties have requested the President to appoint an interim government for a specific period of time based on the current situation in the country.

A leader of the group told Lankasara that the President had not yet responded to the request and that he was ready to give a definite answer at today’s discussion.

In a letter to the President of the 11 Parties, the President, on the advice of the National Executive Council, decides on government policies, decision making, and the establishment of a National Executive Council consisting of parties represented in Parliament, with a limited number of Ministries to run the interim government and their scope. The letter was handed over to the President by 11 parties recently.

He added that a final agreement would be reached today on the contents of this article.
