Police investigations commence on 13 vehicles not returned by Former Ministers and MPs

Police have commenced investigations into 13 vehicles that have not been returned by several former Ministers and parliamentarians. According to the Police, investigations have commenced on the advice of the Election Commission of Sri Lanka after complaints had been received that 13 vehicles belonging to the state had not been returned by Ministers and MPs contesting in the upcoming election. 

The Police also said that two out of the 13 have now been returned by a State Minister back to the relevant Ministry. Others have been informed to return the vehicles immediately a Police source said.

Meanwhile, a special discussion is also to be held on Tuesday (07) at the Election Commission on further action to be taken relating to the vehicles. The officials of the relevant Ministries have been called in for the meeting commission sources said.
