The SLPP has requested the President to appoint the same members of their party to the ministerial portfolios they held during the previous SLPP government.

 The General Secretary of the SLPP, Sagara Kariyawasam, has told the media that they have informedPresidentt Ranill Wickremesinghe of their suggestion.

This request has been received from SLLP in light of the fact that the cabinet is scheduled to be sworn in shortly.

 However, the President has not been able to reach any finality on the matter because of disagreements within the government over the number of portfolios and subject allocatons.

The SLPP on an earlier occasion also requested the President to nominate Johnston Fernando, SM Chandrasena, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Namal Rajapaksa, Pavitra Wanniarachchi, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, and several others with Cabinet responsibilities.
