Former Cabinet Minister Athauda Seneviratne has passed away this morning (31).
At the time of his death he was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
Athauda Seneviratne was 91 years old at the time of his death.
Born on September 19, 1931, Athauda Seneviratne was elected to Parliament in 1989 representing the Kegalle District.
He was also the Chief Minister of the Sabaragamuwa Province in 1999. In 2019, he came forward to support the Samagi Janabala Party’s presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa.
