The annual festival of the Nallur Kandasamy Kovil in Jaffna commenced on the 25th with the hoisting of the flag.
Jaffna Health Officials had only allowed for 50 devotees to attend the annual festival. However, the Board of Trustees had requested the President to allow for 300 devotees to attend. Following the request, the President had granted the necessary permission to increase the number of devotees.
The annual festival of Nallur Kovil is scheduled to end on August 20. All devotees attending this year’s festival have been asked to respect the rules of health while the health and security officials are paying close attention to ensure devotees follow the guidelines set out.
