State, Semi-State and Private Sector Trade Union Confederation warns the government that if they do not lockdown the country by next Friday, the unions are all set for a self-lockdown from Monday.

Ravi Kumudesh Co-convener of the Confederation said that trade unions have proposed the government perform 10 actions in order to get ease from the pandemic including 10 days of scientific lockdown. Perform at least one Covid test point during that period, including Covid PCR, Rapid PCR and Rapid Antigen Tests

Separate the infected and plan home remedies for common symptoms.
Prepare one hundred thousand beds with intermediate centres for those with symptoms and in need of intermediate treatment.
Reserve 10,000 beds for essential treatment
Plan to accurately predict the disease through scientific surveillance
Avoid bringing in tourists during that time.
Be mindful of the types of immigrants coming from all over the world.
Identify green, orange and red zones according to the number of patients found in the country and improve by protecting the green-orange zones.
Fulfil the government’s responsibility for the needs of the people during the lockdown
