College of Pediatrics urges Health Minister to reappoint Dr Lakkumar to NMRA

The College of Pediatrics has nominated ousted Dr Lakkumar Fernando to reappoint as a Director of National Drug Regulatory Authority , representing them.

The college of pedaetrics has send a letter with detailed clarification to Minister of Health Mrs Pavithra Wanniarachchi recently.

In the letter to the Minister of Health, the Committee, including the Chairman of the College have unanimously requested that the decision to terminate the service of Dr. Lakkumar Fernando be reversed and that he be accepted as his representative for the post of Director of the National Drug Regulatory Authority.

According to the National Drug Regulatory Authority Act, the Institute of Pediatricians has the power to appoint a doctor as a representative of the Association of Pediatricians.
