The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says there will be no delay in receiving fuel stocks ordered for April and May. Its Chairman, D.J. Rajakaruna, stated at a media briefing held today (01) that the fuel shipments are scheduled to arrive from India and Singapore.
He further assured that the conflict situation in the Middle East will not disrupt the country’s fuel supply.
“We state this responsibly. Therefore, there is no need for the public to wait in queues. We were not planning to distribute fuel today (01). However, as people continued to consume fuel, we called all fuel distribution employees to work. Distribution has now commenced. Although tomorrow (02) is a Poya day, we will continue to supply fuel.
We have instructed all filling stations not to supply fuel to cans or external containers. If anyone sells fuel outside authorized filling stations, we will strictly enforce the law,” he said.
