The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning of strong winds, forecasting that windy conditions will prevail throughout the day.
This warning is in effect for the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-Western, and North-Central provinces.
The department stated that the warning, which was issued today (20) at 10:00 a.m., will remain valid until tomorrow (21) at 10:00 a.m.
Due to the active southwest monsoon prevailing over the island, strong winds of about 50-60 kmph are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-Western, and North-Central provinces.
The Department of Meteorology further stated that moderately strong winds of about 30-40 kmph can be expected in other parts of the island.
