It was revealed before the Jaffna Court that among the skeletal remains of 64 individuals found during the excavation of the Chemmani-Sithupathi mass grave in Jaffna, the remains of a 6-year-old girl were identified along with a blue school bag and toys.

These facts were reported yesterday (15) when the court was informed about the progress of the excavations. Judicial Medical Officer Pranavan Sellaya stated before the court that the next phase of excavations will commence on July 21.

Excavations had been temporarily suspended since the 10th to systematically number and preserve the skeletal remains already recovered.
