Sri Lanka proudly participated in the 33rd *Holiday World and Region World* International Tourism Exhibition 2025, held from 14th to 16th March at the PVA EXPO in Prague, Czech Republic. The event was organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Vienna in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB).
The exhibition, the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic, was organized under the auspices of the Czech Tourism Board and the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic. It brought together tourism professionals and service providers from across the globe, offering a platform to promote global tourism and build cooperation among international tourism bodies.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Stand was ceremoniously opened by Ambassador M.R.K. Lenagala, Sri Lanka’s envoy to the Czech Republic, who lit the traditional oil lamp. In his remarks, the Ambassador appreciated the Sri Lankan travel and tour operators for their participation and commended their continued efforts in promoting Sri Lanka as a prime travel destination for European tourists. He expressed confidence that this initiative would support Sri Lanka’s target of welcoming 3 million tourists in 2025.
Fourteen prominent Sri Lankan travel and tour operators joined the exhibition, including Brians Holidays Sri Lanka, Serene Vacations Lanka, Nomadic Ventures Sri Lanka, Delux Holidays (PVT) LTD, Trips4u.com Travel and Tours, Aitken Spence Travels, Real Lanka Holidays, Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd, Blue Lanka Tours, Ocean Gate Travels & Tours (Pvt) Ltd, Lotus Destination Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Dune Towers, Serendib Travel Holidays (PVT) LTD, and Celestia Ayurveda Resort.
Visitors to the Sri Lanka Stand were treated to traditional Sri Lankan cuisine and authentic Ceylon Tea, while tourism promotional videos showcasing the island’s diverse attractions were screened throughout the event.
Sri Lanka’s presence at this major European tourism fair aims to strengthen its visibility in the Central European market and further boost tourist arrivals to the island nation.
