Police have launched an investigation into an assault on a security guard by a group that arrived at a nightclub on Park Street, Colombo 02, with Yoshitha Rajapaksa and his wife.
According to the police, Yoshitha Rajapaksa, his wife, and a group of eight men arrived at the nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.
When Yoshitha Rajapaksa and his wife attempted to enter the nightclub, the security guards requested them to wear identification bracelets per the club’s entry requirements.
The security guards later complained to the police, stating that an argument broke out over the request, which escalated into a physical assault by the group.
One of the security guards was injured during the attack and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
The Company Street Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
