Pope Francis’ health is showing signs of slight improvement, according to an update from the Holy See Press Office.

The 87-year-old Pontiff has not experienced any new episodes of asthma-like respiratory distress, and his oxygen levels are improving. Doctors have slightly reduced his oxygen flow, and recent test results indicate progress in his condition.

Though Pope Francis has been dealing with mild kidney insufficiency, Vatican officials assure that it is not a cause for concern. The Holy Father remains active, resuming his regular duties and continuing to keep in touch with communities around the world.

Call to Gaza Parish Amid Recovery

Despite his health challenges, Pope Francis continues to express his pastoral care. On Monday evening, he made a phone call to the Holy Family Parish in Gaza, speaking with the faithful and offering them words of comfort. He expressed his deep concern for the suffering in the region and assured them of his prayers.

“I am with you in this difficult time. You are not alone. The entire Church prays for peace and for all those who are suffering,” the Pope told them during the call.

His outreach to the Gaza parish reflects his ongoing commitment to those in conflict zones, even as he manages his health issues.

Prayers and Masses for the Pope’s Recovery

As news of his health spread, Catholic communities worldwide have held special Masses and prayer gatherings for Pope Francis’ recovery. In Rome, a special Mass was held at St. Peter’s Basilica, where cardinals and faithful prayed for his strength and well-being.

Similar services have been conducted in cathedrals across Europe, Latin America, and Africa. In Argentina, his homeland, thousands of believers gathered at the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral to pray for the Pope’s health. In the Philippines, churches dedicated Sunday services to his recovery, with many lighting candles and offering intentions for his healing.

Bishops and religious leaders have encouraged the faithful to continue praying for the Holy Father. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, reassured the public that Pope Francis is in good spirits and remains dedicated to his mission despite his health challenges.

“His Holiness continues to carry out his responsibilities with great dedication. We ask everyone to keep him in their prayers as he recovers,” Cardinal Parolin said.

 Pope’s Upcoming Engagements

Despite his condition, Pope Francis remains committed to his schedule, although adjustments have been made to allow him more rest. The Vatican has not yet confirmed whether he will preside over the upcoming Angelus prayer at St. Peter’s Square, but officials say he is being closely monitored by his medical team.

As the faithful continue to pray for his health, Pope Francis remains an example of resilience and faith, carrying out his duties while trusting in God’s guidance.
