Arrangements are being made to hold talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Tamil National Alliance (TNA).

Leader of the Tamil National Alliance R. Sampanthan says India has already made a request from the party to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister. According to Sampanthan, Indian authorities are making the necessary preparations for the talks to be held.

The Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka met with a delegation of the Tamil National Alliance on August 21. On September 26, a video conference was held between Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the video conference, the Prime Minister of India called for the full implementation of the 13th Amendment.
