A discussion between Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and the members of the Election Commission will be held this morning regarding the matters that have arisen regarding the conduct of the proposed local government elections The Election Commission said. This discussion will be held today (10) at 11.30 am at Temple Trees and it will be followed by a decisive meeting of the commission which will be taken place tomorrow (11).
According to sources close to the Prime Minister, the allocation of money required for the holding of local government elections will be primarily discussed and the Prime Minister, as the Cabinet Minister in charge of local government, will present information in this regard.
However, a senior official of the Election Commission told Lankasara that after today’s discussion, the Election Commission that will meet tomorrow will make several decisions regarding the holding of the local government election and will inform the public about them.
