Dubai bound Sri Lankan flight in an emergency landing

There were 189 passengers and 15 staff on this plane

A Sri Lankan flight which left for Dubai after a delay of almost 15 hours landed again at Katunayake Airport this morning (08) due to a mechanical fault.

Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL-225 was scheduled to depart for Dubai yesterday (07) at 06.25 in the evening. Due to the delay, the flight left today (08) at 09.30 in the morning.

After leaving the Katunayake airport for about an hour and ten minutes, the plane landed again at the Katunayake airport at around 10:40 AM upon noticing the mechanical fault.

By that time, this plane had traveled close to India.

The airport sources stated that the windshield in front of the chief pilot of this plane had a crack. Therefore, the pilot turned his plane back and arrived at the Katunayake airport.

There were 189 passengers and 15 staff on this plane.

The airport sources further stated that this flight will depart for Dubai from Katunayake Airport this evening (08) using another aircraft.
