National cricket training commences today (01) under strict quarantine regulations

Training of the National Cricket team will commence after a hiatus of nearly two months today (01) under strict health regulations imposed by the government due to Covid 19. Accordingly, 13 chosen crickets will take part in an in a house training session at the Colombo CCC grounds for 12 days according to reports from Sri Lanka cricket.

Considering cricket as a dangerous game to be engaged in at these times, Sri Lanka Cricket said strict regulations have been imposed for the sessions and the team will be housed together in one hotel at the time. 

The first sessions of training will be held for the bowlers and will be joined by team captain Dimuth Karunaratne and several other batsmen. Accordingly, six fast bowlers, three spin bowlers, and four batsmen will join the sessions. 

Captain Dimuth Karaunaratne, Kusal Janith Perera, Dhanushka Gunathilake, Dasun Shanaka, Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Pradeep, Lahiru Kumara, Vishawa Fernando, Isuru Udana, Kasun Rajitha, Wanidu Hasaranga, Lasith Embuldeniya and Lakshan Sandakelum will join the training session. 

The training team will be limited to four members and all vehicles entering the training camp will be disinfected. This is set to be done on a daily basis. 

Health Officials have already made checks at the ground and the hotel the crickets will be house at and provided the necessary health guidelines. 

Sri Lanka Cricket has also informed that no person taking part in the training camp will be given permission to leave the hotel or the ground during the time.
