Australia recorded the first victory from the first T 20 match of the super round of T 20 worldcup beating South Africa. Australia secured a win by 05 wickets.
Australia who won the toss and offred the batting for South Africa. Aiden McCurry was the only batsman to make a successful start for South Africa. He remained on the wicket for 74 minutes and scored 40 off 36 balls. It included three fours and one six.
Kagiso Rabada scored 19 points, David Miller 16 points, Heinrich Klaassen 13 points and Tomba Bauma 12 points. South Africa were restricted to 118 for 9 in 20 overs.
The Australian bowlers did their job well. Mitchell Starc took four wickets for 32 runs, Glenn Maxwell took one wicket for 24 runs, Jose Hazwood took two wickets for 19 runs, Pat Cummins took one wicket for 17 runs and Adam Sampa took two wickets for 21 runs.
The Australians, who came in to play , were bowled out for 4 in the first over. Opening batsman skipper Aaron Pinch fell victim to Kagiso Rabada without scoring. The second wicket fell at 20 runs. Opening batsman David Warner was out. Miley Marsh was dismissed for 38 in the third over. Then Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell increased the total to 80 points. Michelle Marsh (80) and Glenn Maxwell (81) were out. 81 runs for the loss of 05 wickets.
But Marcus Stonic scored 24 off 16 balls and wicketkeeper Matthew Wade scored 15 off 10 balls to take the winning target to 19.4 overs. Australia won by 05 wickets. The man of the match was named Jose Hazlewood of the Australian team.
Despite the low score, the South African bowlers put a lot of pressure on the batsmen.
