A number of ceremonies are scheduled to be held from October 10th to October 18th in the Mullaitivu Vellamullyvaikkal area to commemorate the people who died in the three-decade-long ethnic conflict.
These events have been organized by Tamil political parties, the Jaffna University Students Union, and several other voluntary organizations.
Accordingly, in the final phase of the war, thousands of people trapped in Mullaitivu saved their lives by consuming porridge.
The final ceremony is scheduled to be held on May 18 at Vellamullivaikkal, Mullaitivu, and the relatives of the war dead and a large number of people are also expected to participate in the event.
The organizers have taken steps to light the lamps to commemorate the people who died in the war and to perform several other rituals.
