Two Officers Killed in PT 6 Aircraft Accident

The Sri Lanka Air Force has confirmed the loss of two officers who were traveling in a PT 6 aircraft, primarily used for pilot training. The aircraft was involved in a sudden crash at the Sri Lanka Air Force Chinawaraya Academy, No. 01 Flight Training Wing.

The accident occurred today (07) morning, approximately 11:27 am in the Chinawaraya Camp area, as reported by the Air Force Press Officer, Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe.

The PT 6 aircraft, which plays a crucial role in training pilots, experienced the unfortunate mishap, resulting in the untimely loss of the two officers on board.

Upon receiving news of the tragedy, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa has promptly appointed a special investigation committee to conduct thorough inquiries into the circumstances leading to the accident.
