A group of Sri Lankans en route to Tel Aviv, Israel, aboard Fly Dubai flight FZ 1625, found themselves stranded in Dubai as flights were suspended due to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.
According to Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, the flight was diverted to Dubai amidst concerns of potential airstrikes by Iran on Israeli territory. Among the passengers onboard were several Sri Lankans, who now face uncertainty regarding their travel plans.
Bandara urged Sri Lankans intending to travel to or transit through the region to stay informed about flight delays and potential changes in schedules by contacting their respective airlines.
