It is reported that more and more employees are joining this strike which has started due to the delay in giving salary increments and promotions as scheduled.

Srimal Devapriya, one of the key members of this strike, stated that this movement was launched because of the non-provision of salary increments and job promotions as per Italy’s national labor policy.

“C.L.O.” is an Italian distributor for supermarkets. The organization offers services to supermarkets in the Italian regions of Liguria, Piedmont, and Lombardy. There are 1500 international workers employed by this Milan, Italy-based enterprise, including 200 Sri Lankans.
