Six IS women who pledged to carry out suicide attacks in Sri Lanka arrested

All six are from the Eastern town of Kattankudy

The Batticaloa Special Police Unit today (05) arrested six women who had pledged in the presence of terrorist Zahran Hashim to carry out suicide attacks. 

It has been revealed that a group of female suicide attackers were arrested in the Kattankudy area in Kalmunai and among them were the wives of the extremist terrorists who carried out the Easter attack.

This information is being revealed during the interrogation of a 20 year old youth who is considered to be the leader of the ISIS terror organization operating in Sri Lanka after his arrest in Kattankudy following a covert operation.

Following his interrogation the Batticaloa Special Police Unit was able to arrest ten IS operatives in a previous occasion.Investigations have revealed that IS has spread across the country. A special investigation was also launched into nearly 700 extremists.

The report of the special investigation was handed over to the security chiefs on the 30th.
