Radio broadcasting studio to be named after Premakeerthi De Alwis

For the first time in Sri Lanka a radio broadcasting studio is to be named after veteran broadcaster, journalist and songwriter the late Premakeerthi De Alwis.

The studio will be named and declared open on Thursday (July 31) which marks the 31st death anniversary of the broadcaster. The event will be held on the 6th floor of Lak Tower, the headquarters of Lak FM. De Alwis was shot dead by unknown assailants on July 31, 1989. He was 42 years old at the time of his death,
