Opening of Airports : Final decision this week

Authorities are set to take a final decision on the opening of Sri Lanka’s airport by this week. According to the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd. (AASL), it is expected that all procedures for the reopening of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) will be accordingly finalized.

The AASL is said to be trying to work out how the entire process would work if the airport is to reopen. Authorities are also looking into formulating a list of countries whose citizens will be allowed to travel to Sri Lanka.
