MP Namal Rajapaksa has stated in Parliament yesterday (07) that Channel 4 has had a historical rivalry with the Rajapaksas since the end of the 2009 war. He questioned why the video released by Channel 4 related to the Easter Sunday attack was removed from their website if it had any credibility. He also suggested that the latest video from Channel 4 might be another attempt to take revenge on the Rajapaksas for eliminating terrorists or to fulfill someone’s political objective.
Namal Rajapaksa mentioned that Channel 4 has held a grudge against his family and the Rajapaksa name since the end of the war in 2009 and has consistently released videos targeting them.
He expressed skepticism about the credibility of Channel 4 and referred to it as a “video production company” rather than a media organization.
