Meanwhile, the sources say that they will not nominate persons for the posts of state and deputy ministers until the 21st is passed.

The government has come to this decision following the consideration of recent moves by former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa led group to prevent the support of 21 members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, despite giving ministerial posts and other privileges to those who support the 21st Amendment.

The Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksa has stated that the 21st Amendment to the Constitution has been prepared with all the proposals included in the new amendment and that it will be presented to the party leaders today and will be approved by the Cabinet next Monday.
