Lanka Coal chairman resigns amidst immense pressure!

 

Lanka Coal Company Chairman Jagath Perera has resigned.
According to the company sources he has submitted his resignation letter to Energy Minister Kanchana Wijeseraka two days ago.

The chairman has informed that he has resigned due to continuous strong criticism and pressure from outside parties regarding the coal import tenders which were executed legally and transparently.

The chairman has informed that a group of people are trying to disrupt the coal import activities.

It is reported that after the minister accepted the resignation of the chairman who submitted his resignation three days ago, he has taken over the work of an institution related to the agriculture sector.
