The principal of Urkavathurai College in Jaffna has received more than twenty million rupees from donors in foreign countries to set up an environmental project in the school. Investigations have been launched based on the fact that this money has been deposited in his personal accounts.

Regarding these two incidents, the officials of the school development boards have been able to unveil that a large number of people have given money to the school.

The School Development Board personnel were able to file a complaint with the Provincial Ministry of Education, which allowed for the investigations because none of the donations were recorded in any official document.

The two principals have been assigned to work at the Jaffna Regional Education Office until the investigations initiated against these two principals are completed.
