Representatives of Tamil Nadu fishermen’s associations and several other voluntary organizations have come forward to help the Tamil people in the North, East and plantation areas who are facing a severe economic crisis.
A former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the current Chief Minister have taken steps to provide Rs. 10 million in aid.
The current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. K Starlin will provide 500,000 INR while the former Chief Minister O. Panirselvam will provide Rs. 500,000.
The value of this assistance is Rs. 45 million in Sri Lankan currency. The two have stated in their letters to the Central Government of India that they will provide the aid from two activism funds and that a delegation of theirs will come and provide the aid.
In addition, India has offered to assist Tamils in the North, East and plantations.
