IMF team arrives in Sri Lanka on June 20th

A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Working Group on Sri Lanka is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka on June 20. Sources from the Ministry of Finance stated that they are coming to Sri Lanka for discussions at the staff level regarding the loans that Sri Lanka has requested so far.
The delegation will spend a few days in Sri Lanka where the President and the Prime Minister will hold discussions with officials of the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance. Recently, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called on the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christina Georgieva to expedite the assistance of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Sri Lanka in the wake of the current economic crisis.
