The All Ceylon Health Trade Union Federation has announced that a protest would be launched on December 1, 2 and 3 outside selected hospitals over several demands.
The Federation has demanded that the government implements a new mechanism based on a scientific approach to control the COVID-19 pandemic. They have also requested that the government allocate more funds from the budget to the health sector as well as to provide additional allowances and facilities for the health officials engaged in combating COVID-19.
The Federation said protests would be held at Kurunegala Teaching Hospital on December 1, Galle, Matara, Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children and Matale Hospitals on December 2 and Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Badulla, Ampara, Tangalle and Horana Hospitals on December 3 at 12 pm.
