Friday is no more a holiday for public servants

The circular issued declaring Fridays as holidays, instructing  all government offices to function only for four days a week and has been annulled with immediate effect .  The government has taken this step following the   public transport as become to normal as fuel supply has ensured with new Quota system.

Circular number 15/2022 was issued by the Public Administration Ministry, inclusive of the said instructions, with a validity period of three months.

The Cabinet ministers yesterday had approved the resolution forwarded by the Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena as the Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister to cancel the above circular with immediate effect, considering that public transport is being normalised by now and a sufficient period of time has been allocated to engage in preliminary activities applicable to the agricultural activities.
