Former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya says that today is the day for parliamentarians to listen to their consciences.
He has stated this in a post on his official social media accounts.
“Today is a very important day in the history of Sri Lanka. Today is the day for Members of Parliament to listen to their conscience.We should not make the mistake as was done in the German Parliament in 1933 that endorsed dictatorship.History will remember them by the way they raise their hands today” he said.
