The Director of the Institute of Technology at the University of Moratuwa has been removed. It is reported that steps have been taken to appoint a competent authority instead.
Accordingly, Dr. Chaminda Lal Sujeewa Lewangamage has been appointed as the competent authority of the Institute of Technology. A special gazette notification issued by the Minister Prof. GL Peiris states that these steps were taken as the administrative activities of the institution have been seriously disrupted.
