Daily oxygen requirement in hospitals Decreases by 20 tons

Health officials say the daily requirement of Oxygen for Covid patients has decreased by about 20 tons per day compared to the previous levels. According to sources in the Ministry of Health, the demand for oxygen has been reduced from an average of 120 tons per day to 100 tons in recent days.

Before the Covid pandemic, the average was about 44 tons a day, up from about 135 tons a day in recent days, but has since been in the 120-ton range. A spokesman for the ministry said that the number of patients who are dependent on oxygen has also decreased due to the reduction in the spread of diseases in the country due to the existing restrictions on circulation.

In addition, Dr Anwar Hamdani, director of medical technology services at the Ministry of Health, told The Island newspaper today that the number of beds available to treat Covid patients had dropped from 97 percent to about 70 percent. The number of Covid patients reported daily has also dropped from 5,000 to 3,000.
