CEB chairman Ferdinando resigns

Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board MMC Ferdinando has submitted his resignation letter to the President. A letter has been sent to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa today (26) stating that he will resign from the post of Chairman and a member of the Board of the Electricity Board with effect from February 1st.
He has stated that he will resign due to personal reasons and he has become a controversial figure in the last few weeks due to the illegal appointment of an acting General Manager as the General Manager of the Electricity Board. The Electrical Engineers’ union strongly objected to this and yesterday (25) appointed a new General Manager to replace the controversial Acting General Manager. Following this incident, the Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board had abruptly submitted his resignation letter to the President today.
However it is yet to confirm whether the President has accepted the resignation.
