The Bar Association of Sri Lanka commends the appointment of the new Attorney General Mr Sanjaya Rajaratnam PC who took oaths in front of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (26). Congratulating to the new AG, BASL issues a press issued a press release stating that being the most senior counsel of the Attorney General Department he is eligible to hold the position. Also, BASL is confident on Mr Rajaratnam will exercise his duties impartially and will maintain independence in his office.
