Basil prepares SLPP for a sudden election!

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, the main party of the government has launched a program to strengthen their organizational network to deal successfully with if an emergency election declared, party sources said.

A senior spokesman for the Sri Lanka People’s Front (SLPP) told Lankasara that it was proposed to implement this work under the leadership of the National Organizer of the party, Basil Rajapaksa.

He said that the political parties that are currently with the SLPP and the political parties that have been divided as well as the new parties and groups will face the election according to a comprehensive plan.

Accordingly, discussions will be held in the future with all political parties and groups in the People’s Front and those who wish to join under the leadership of Basil Rajapaksa, the spokesman said.

As a first step, Basil Rajapaksa recently held discussions with the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna led by Dinesh Gunawardena on the political trajectory as well as the current situation in the country.
