As all the treatment centers are overcrowded, 96 Covid patients have to be kept at home in several divisions of the Gampaha Medical Officer of Health, Regional Health Authorities revealed to Lankasara.
According to the sources there are 20 patients in Minuwangoda, 25 patients in Divulapitiya, 25 patients in Katana, 10 patients in Seeduwa and 16 patients in Gampaha have been kept at their homes until the hospitals become vacant.
Due to the lack of space at all the Covid treatment centers in Gampaha, tey have opted for beds at the treatment centers in Kopay and Karadiyanaru areas but they have failed to find a single bed in those centers too . Health officials point out that this situation will become more confusing in the coming days.
