The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) was in shock whrn thry seized over Rs. 283 million in cash,and little later knowing that they had got hold of the largest amount of cash recovered in a single raid.
Acting Inspector General of Police, Priyantha Weerasuriya, said a that the money belongs to a drug trafficker operating from within the prison and comended the police officers who conducted the raid.
The suspects are supposed be operators who have been trafficking drugs in the Kandy -kurunagala and Dambulla area under a kingpin who is currently serving a prison sentence. .
