The National Audit Office reports that most of the missing or misplaced government vehicles belong to the Ministry of Health.
Auditor General W.P.C. Wickramaratne informed the media that a detailed report will be prepared regarding these missing vehicles.
In addition to the Ministry of Health, many other government agencies, such as the Ministry of Education, Post, Irrigation, and the Presidential Secretariat, also lack proper information about their vehicles.
The National Audit Office has begun an investigation into the matter. Auditor General Wickramaratne mentioned that the Motor Transport Commissioner’s Department is cooperating with the investigation.
He further stated that a complete report detailing the missing or misplaced government vehicles would be released after the audit.
